The arithmetic, automated
Five numbers that get worked by hand on almost every machine frame project, and that decide more of the cost than most buyers expect. Free, no registration, no email capture, nothing gated. They run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Fillet weld size and weld metal
Throat, deposited metal weight and the AWS D1.1 minimum leg for the plate thickness. Shows what an oversized fillet actually costs — deposited metal goes with the square of leg length.
Plate weight and nesting yield
Weight, parts per sheet and how much of the sheet you are really buying. Flags a thickness nobody stocks before it becomes a six-week mill order.
Stress relief cycle (PWHT)
Soak time, heating and cooling rates to AWS D1.1 for a given section thickness — and a drawing note you can copy that leaves a shop nowhere to be vague.
Steel grade equivalents
Q355, S355, A572, SS400, A36, grey iron and the rest, grouped by strength class across Chinese, European, American and Japanese standards.
Container fit checker
Check a frame against 20 ft, 40 ft, high cube, open top and flat rack limits. Finds the freight cost cliff you are about to walk off.
Something missing?
If there is a calculation you run repeatedly on frame work, say so — the list grows from what buyers actually ask for. Write to the enquiry form and put "tool idea" in the part description.
Why these are free
Because a buyer who can check their own weld metal weight, spot an unstocked plate thickness and see the container cliff coming writes better drawings — and a better drawing is cheaper for everyone downstream, including us. The reasoning behind each tool is in the handbook; the tools are the arithmetic pulled out of it.
